Too Faced Insurance Policy High Impact Eye Shadow Collection | Review

Hello friends :) Today I am going to do a little review on this product which I am very excited about that I purchased last weekend from TKMAXX.

There is a little story behind this product and so because I am who I am, I am going to let you in on what happened that morning.  It's really not that exciting, I apologise.

Okay, well my eye primer (e.l.f's eye primer) has been running out, and I am literally trying to scrap it out of the pot, so I was thinking about buying a new primer, but I wasn't sure which one.  I have always wanted to try Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion and so I was thinking about popping into Debenhams and possibly buying one... AND THEN.  I went to TKMAXX with my grandma <3 and in the makeup section... untouched... was this set.  Now, the RRP was £38, and I would never spend that much, because I'm sure I will never have that much money I can just splash on two products.  But because I was in the wonderful TKMAXX (favourite shop, like, ever!) it was only....

Midnight in NY | NOTD

Hello friends. Recently I received my first ever glossybox (will be doing a post shortly) and inside this box was this gorgeous nail varnish. (Sally Hanson's 670 Midnight in NY)

At first I wasn't sure if it was a black colour, but after putting it on my nails, it was definitely black. I've always been wary of black nail varnishes because I don't think that they suit my skin colour etc... But this colour has beautiful sparkly reflexes of gold, red, yellow and blue.

What nail varnish are you wearing today?

MAC's Kohl Eyeliners | Review

Hello, friends.  Over the past year or so, I have managed to collect a few MAC Kohl eyeliners.  The ones I own are: Smoulder (I actually have two), Teddy, Minted and Pale Yellow.  I know I don't have all that many compared to some people, but I don't have tons of money to go out and buy lots of MAC's eyeliners.

Most of these I got as gifts, or was given them in some form or another.  Minted and Pale Yellow, my sister gave me.  I begged her and begged her and persuaded her to give them to me :) and eventually she did.  To be fair, she never ever used them so it wasn't like I was taking her favourite thing away from her.

Smoulder and Teddy, I bought off ebay.co.uk, and so if I'm perfectly honest, I don't know if they are definitely MAC or some knock-off thingy, but I have another Smoulder which I got in a goody bag, from when I went to this makeup day, and they are both the same as far as I can tell.

These eyeshadows are very pigmented and they are very soft to apply to the eyes.  I love all the colours that I have.

Smoulder:  is an awesome black colour, very dark and looks great on the lash line, waterline etc.

Teddy: is less pigmented, but then again it is a browny colour, and those colours are never as pigmented and the blacks.  But it is very pigmented on the lid, just not so much on the waterline.

Minted: this colour is so unique! I can't describe how amazing is it.  It is so pigmented and even though it is green, on the waterline or even a line on the top lashline, it really gives your eyes something special.  It makes them pop.  And if you pair this eyeliner with a nude lip, you can really have a stunning day time look, if your going shopping or out for brunch or something.

Pale Yellow: This colour is great for putting in the inner corner and bottom waterline.  It helps brighten up the eye and make your eyes look bigger.  If you are going for a smokey eye, I would recommend wearing black or whatever smokey eye colour you are going for (say blue or purple), on your lower lash line, then put pale yellow on your lower waterline.  It looks gorgeous.

So I would definitely recommend these eyeliners, if you have the money to splurge on them.  I mean at a hefty price of £14, it is quite a lot for an eyeliner.  But ya know, they are very, very good.  If you want to look through their colour range and maybe purchase some of your own, you can click here.  Every single colour I have, I would say go out and buy.  But if I had to choose one, I would choose Minted, because you can get a black, brown, white, anywhere, but this colour is so unique, which is why I love it so much!

Have a fabulous day, where ever you are,

Date Night #1 | Makeup Tutorial Featuring Danielle Reid :)

Hello, friends.  Tonight, my sister is going on a date with her boyfriend, and as it is quite a special occasion, she asked me to do her makeup for her.  After I had done it I thought why not show everyone what I did and how they can do it.  I haven't done a step by step with the pictures, I have only done the finished look.  However, if future when I plan on doing a tutorial I will do a step by step picture follow through.  Sorry, once again for the lighting of the photos, it isn't in natural lighting because it was at night and I hadn't planned it out.  I will hopefully soon, be buying some natural light, lights.  Or a lamp, which I can then use to take pictures with natural lighting, and then the swatches will look so much better :) yay!

Okay, now then, onto the tutorial.

Non-Beauty Favourites | September

Hello, friends.  I'm sorry I know this post is long over-due, but I keep forgetting to write it - no excuse I know.  But its okay, its not like its half way through October, yet.  Time is going so quickly it really scares me.

But first of all, I want to say that on my beauty favourites for September, I asked the question whether you wanted me to do short posts with not much detail, or longer posts with my opinions and little stories and stuff.  And I was thinking about it, but I don't really like not giving you all details and information and stuff, its not what I wanted to do when I started this blog.  So I'm going to do more detailed blogs for you all.  Which I hope isn't a bad thing... That would be a little strange.

Hahaa anyway, I'm get along with this post now.

POTD | Makeup #1

Today I was going through all my makeup taking pictures for my blog, and heads up, I have lots of posts that I have planned and hopefully you all will like them :)

Anyway, I was going through my eyeliners and I found my old MAC  Kohl Eyeliner in Smoulder, and I had to sharpen it because it was completely blunt, and I only realised afterwards how small it actually was...

It was quite saddening because I love this eyeliner, and it is basically the only black eyeliner I use, but I do have a spare, so it's okay, don't stress everyone! Hahaa, anywho, I thought I would share with you how actually small this is.

I have measured it against my finger and it is half the size of my finger, and I don't have big hands at all.  How sad :(

Anyway, hope you had a fab day, let me know if you did anyway interesting - or even if you didn't in the comments below.

This is going to be a new little series-ish thingy magig, of mine, where if I find a picture or a quote or something, and it is going to be my pic/pick of the day.

See you all later,

Annabel

Favourite Vampire Star? | Ask The Audience

I know nowadays in the media world, everybody is going crazy for vampires.  This is me included by the way. I love watching vampire shows (The Vampire Diaries being my favourite, Stephan and Damon...) and vampire films (lets all stop kidding ourselves, we all love The Twilight Saga, end of).  And so, I was thinking to myself, who is my favourite vampire hero or villain.  And I simply couldn't decide, so I am asking all of you, who is your favourite vampire star?

Or you do think vampires suck? ;)

Let me know,

My Top 5 Bronzers!

Elf Blush and Bronzing Duo, Rimmel Natural Bronzer, KCO Faces Mineral Glow, Natural Collection Bronzing Powder and 2True Natural Bronzing Powder.

Hello Everyone, hope your having a fabulous day!  I've just had a massive sixth form meeting at my school, where my head of sixth form talks to us all about how amazing our school is - and how we all should stay on.  Most of us aren't.  However, after today I must admit I am kind of considering it... The main reason why I would be leaving is because I love acting and thats the career path I want to follow, and at my school the drama classes are very, very small, and its difficult to create a whole play with say 3 people.  But I do love my school, so that is a big shame.

Okay, now Annabel, stop rambling and talk to these people about bronzers :P

I'm going to come straight out and say that I am not massive bronzer junky.  I am definitely not a fan of the "orange" look, and mostly I just embrace my paleness and go for a nice blush instead.  That does not mean tot say that I don't own any bronzers because I do and I do use them, just with a much lighter hand than some people.

And now for that reason, I don't have any high end bronzers - because I don't feel the need to.  I believe that the quality is in the product - not the price.  So all these bronzers are drugstore, although one I did purchase at a Clothes Show and so I need to quickly check exactly how much that one is full price.

- Okay it turns out the KCO bronzer I purchased at the Clothes Show is quite expensive, but all the rest are very cheap - I promise.

1.  Natural Collection - Bronzing Powder - First off can I just say that for being £1.99. there is so much product in this bronzer.  It's awesome! Now because it's very cheap, it is a little powdery, but I say a little because it is a very small amount, so I am not going to complain. It is a nice colour, however a tad orangey - so be careful.  It also has really great pigmentation.  I really like this bronzer and after doing this post I have re-discovered it and I am probably going to use it more often. Yay :)

2.  KCO Faces Mineral Glow - This bronzer I purchased at The Clothes Show in 2009.  I know that, that was a long time ago, so the fact that the packaging is completely fallen apart, isn't necessarily because it was badly put together.  And when I first bought this I really loved it and you can tell I used it a lot as it has hit pan.  But to use this bronzer you have to have a very light hand because it is very orange as you can see in the swatch.  Although, I am going to try and use this again as once upon a time, I really loved this bronzer.

3.  Rimmel Natural Bronzer Sun Bronze - Rimmel do come up with great products at a great prices don't they! And I think this is one of them. As you can see I really have used this bronzer, and loved it.  It has a really nice colour, which isn't too orange and not too muddy coloured - if you know what I mean.  The only thing with this bronzer is that it isn't overly pigmented, but if I'm honest, I'm pretty pale and so I can gradually add this onto my skin to get the right colour rather than feeling like I have just stepped out of Willy Wonka's factory.

4. ELF Blush & Bronzing Compact blushed/bronzed - This duo compact I do really love - however that it mostly due to the blusher.  The bronzer I do like - which is the reason it is on this list, however it isn't very pigmented, but I think it might be that I have a slightly faulty product.  The colour is slightly "muddy" however I believe it works very well for contouring your cheeks.  It does have some shimmer, but it isn't very visible once applied, and when it is on your cheeks it just makes them look like they have a nice glow.
5. 2True Natural Bronzing Powder Shade 2 - This is probably my favourite bronzer here because of so many things. 1) You get 13 grams of product for £1.99! 2) It is very pigmented, for the colour of the bronzer. And 3) It looks good on pale skin - my skin, and if you are careful you can get a really great colour - as long as you don't apply too much.  It is an overall awesome bronzer, and I recommend everyone to go out and buy this, especially because it is so cheap - it won't be breaking the banks.

Well, I hope you all have enjoyed this post, and if this was helpful please let me know! :) The numbers aren't in order of favourite to least favourite, they are just randomly put in order.

Have a fabulous day everyone,

Annabel x

P.S.S - I've tried a much more minimalistic approach to this post.  Let me know if you would prefer either:
1) Lots of posts with content but not every single detail
or
2) Slightly fewer posts (but still a few a week) but be more detailed about my opinions and I may even throw in a couple of stories that I might have related to items.

Tell me your opinions about this, so that I can write post that my readers will want to read.  Thank you :)
