MAC's Lady Danger Lipstick | Review

Hello Everyone :) Today, seeing as its just been christmas - and I hope you all had a fantastic, festive time, I thought I would do a review on one of my favourite red lipsticks.

This is MAC's Lady Danger.  It is a gorgeous red with a tint of orange, it looks lovely by itself or with a lipgloss on top.  It is a matte lipstick, and they are my favourite because I love the way it looks on my lips.  I have one of the frost lipstick and I really dislike the way it makes my lips look - it shows the lines up a lot and even when my lips aren't dry, they look dry.

It is really easy to apply and I can apply it without having to use a lipbrush.  It does bleed into the lips if you don't use a lipliner, but that it the same as every other lipstick.  It is a beautiful colour and I would definitely say that it is worth the splurge - something that I wouldn't say about all MAC lipsticks, as it is such a unique colour.

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday :) did you get anything exciting this christmas?

Revlon Little Box of Glamour Gift Set For Only £6.95

Hello everyone! :)

Today I am doing a little haul/first look/reviewy type blog for you all.  Just today a package arrived for me from cheapsmells.com, I have recently made a purchase as I was on there looking for some bargains, when I came across this set.  It was in the gift box section and it looked really nice, and had a nice selection of a mascara, lipgloss and a nail varnish.  And I know from having some, that revlon nail varnishes are amazing, so basically... I couldn't resist.

15 Questions Tag!

Hello, friends.  I saw this tag being done on Jim Chapman's youtube channel (I recommend you watch him here, he is awesome!) And I thought it was quite a fun tag, and even though he did it on youtube, I thought I can still do it on my blog.  So here it is :)

1. What is the one thing you like to think you can do but really can't?
I like to think I'm really good at accents, and I think my American accent is genuinely a good american accent.  But all the other accents I do, I think I'm good at, but I get told frequently that they suck... Wahh hahaa

2. What is a difficult word for me to pronounce?
I find "economy" a difficult word to say, because I always say the "e" a different way, so that it doesn't sound right.  I start saying "e" like "economics" or "e" like "ee" and its just weird, and a strange word.  For me anyway.

3. What is your favourite tv show from childhood?
I think my favourite tv show from childhood was probably, something like Drake and Josh.  I loved it, and I remember I always found Drake so fit, I watch it back now and think hmmm...

4. What are your virtues and vices?
My virtues are that I like to work hard to get what I want, and I won't give up.  I like being busy as well, although the lazy day now and again doesn't go amiss, also I think I am a very open minded person about all kinds of things, like people and food or whatever, I don't like to judge someone or something before you have met them or tried them.  And my vices are that I actually get very stressed out and angry when I can't do something.  It can even be the smallest thing but I can just get angry and I don't really understand why.

5. What is most important to you? Love, fame, power or money?
Obviously every says love, and thats because it is true.  Can you imagine if you had no friends, family.  That's all love.  But money is important, because to be perfectly honest money makes the world go round.  But firstly love <3

6. If you could live in any time or era when would it be and why?
I would probably choose the now, just maybe like a couple of years earlier because of this stupid English mark scheme thingy :P hahaa but no, I love where I am now and the way the world is at the moment.

7. If I had to re-do my wardrobe using only two stores what would they be?
Probably a place like Selfridges because there are so many things to choose from, (btw I am doing this question with the idea that I have unlimited money:) ) and then Topshop just because I rarely buy things from there because it is expensive but there are so many things I wish I could buy.

8. Can you recall what you were doing this time a year ago?
Umm I think I would have just got back from America - best trip ever!! And I would be on a massive american football hype because I love american football and after that trip I was obsessed!

9. Have you ever had any recurring dreams and what are they?
I used to have this recurring dream that I was basically the girl version of Harry Potter.  Now I do actually have a scar on my head, a similar scar to Harry's so maybe it was meant to be... Who knows...

10. What is your horoscope?
I am a taurus and my horoscope today is...

"There's a terrific expansive feeling to the day, Taurus, which you will appreciate more than anyone. For other people, this energy might expand into a headache. For you, it's apt to expand your feeling of success. It also might expand your stomach, so be careful that you don't overindulge. Other than that, don't hold back on your activities. Whatever you do will be very productive."

11. What would your dream bedroom look like?
I really don't know.  I love to switch things up in my room, so nothing that is too stationary and can't be moved at all.  Also it would have to be a simple colour scheme for the staple items - like black and white or something, then for the accessories and bits and bobs they have to be bright colours and something I can easily switch up.

12.  What position do you sleep in?
Okay, I wasn't sure how to describe this so I actually drew what position I normally sleep in.

13.  What is your favourite vampire of all time?
I would probably have to say, Klaus, I am a vampire lover and I love all things that are vampire, just Klaus I think is awesome in vampire diaries and he is a baddy but has a good side which is adorable when he shows it.

14. What are you currently wearing on your feet?

:)

Finally....

15. Do you have neat handwriting? Show us.
No, I do not have neat handwriting at all.  You can see my handwriting in the top picture, and thats me trying to be neat.  Sometimes I have really nice handwriting but it always changes and ends up looking like that.

That is the end of the tag.

I would love to see yours responses to these questions in the comments below or if you have done this tag in a blog post or a video, link it below and I will make sure to check it out

Have a fabulous day :)

Nivea Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes | Review

Hello friends :) This is just a really quick off the bat post.  I am sitting in bed watching some makeup gurus on youtube and using these Nivea Facial Cleansing Wipes to take off my makeup because I'm having a lazy cleansing day, and I took off what I could with the wipe and then I am using Simple's Purifying Cleansing Lotion just to take off any excess and I have to admit I am so impressed with these wipes!
When I looked at the cotton pad after using Simple's Lotion, there was barely anything on that pad.  Which I must say I am impressed by.  Normally after using a wipe I use another cleanser just to get all the makeup and dirt that the wipe didn't pick up, but after using these wipes, I don't feel like I need too.

I have the normal/combination skin, and they are quite soft on the skin, but not soft like it doesn't feel like it is working.  These wipes also don't dry out after you have used them, which I find other wipes sometimes do.

Overall, I really like these wipes and for the few times that I use them to remove my makeup I will be using these for quite some time.

Hope you all had a fabulous day :)

Too Faced Insurance Policy High Impact Eye Shadow Collection | Review

Hello friends :) Today I am going to do a little review on this product which I am very excited about that I purchased last weekend from TKMAXX.

There is a little story behind this product and so because I am who I am, I am going to let you in on what happened that morning.  It's really not that exciting, I apologise.

Okay, well my eye primer (e.l.f's eye primer) has been running out, and I am literally trying to scrap it out of the pot, so I was thinking about buying a new primer, but I wasn't sure which one.  I have always wanted to try Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion and so I was thinking about popping into Debenhams and possibly buying one... AND THEN.  I went to TKMAXX with my grandma <3 and in the makeup section... untouched... was this set.  Now, the RRP was £38, and I would never spend that much, because I'm sure I will never have that much money I can just splash on two products.  But because I was in the wonderful TKMAXX (favourite shop, like, ever!) it was only....

Midnight in NY | NOTD

Hello friends. Recently I received my first ever glossybox (will be doing a post shortly) and inside this box was this gorgeous nail varnish. (Sally Hanson's 670 Midnight in NY)

At first I wasn't sure if it was a black colour, but after putting it on my nails, it was definitely black. I've always been wary of black nail varnishes because I don't think that they suit my skin colour etc... But this colour has beautiful sparkly reflexes of gold, red, yellow and blue.

What nail varnish are you wearing today?

MAC's Kohl Eyeliners | Review

Hello, friends.  Over the past year or so, I have managed to collect a few MAC Kohl eyeliners.  The ones I own are: Smoulder (I actually have two), Teddy, Minted and Pale Yellow.  I know I don't have all that many compared to some people, but I don't have tons of money to go out and buy lots of MAC's eyeliners.

Most of these I got as gifts, or was given them in some form or another.  Minted and Pale Yellow, my sister gave me.  I begged her and begged her and persuaded her to give them to me :) and eventually she did.  To be fair, she never ever used them so it wasn't like I was taking her favourite thing away from her.

Smoulder and Teddy, I bought off ebay.co.uk, and so if I'm perfectly honest, I don't know if they are definitely MAC or some knock-off thingy, but I have another Smoulder which I got in a goody bag, from when I went to this makeup day, and they are both the same as far as I can tell.

These eyeshadows are very pigmented and they are very soft to apply to the eyes.  I love all the colours that I have.

Smoulder:  is an awesome black colour, very dark and looks great on the lash line, waterline etc.

Teddy: is less pigmented, but then again it is a browny colour, and those colours are never as pigmented and the blacks.  But it is very pigmented on the lid, just not so much on the waterline.

Minted: this colour is so unique! I can't describe how amazing is it.  It is so pigmented and even though it is green, on the waterline or even a line on the top lashline, it really gives your eyes something special.  It makes them pop.  And if you pair this eyeliner with a nude lip, you can really have a stunning day time look, if your going shopping or out for brunch or something.

Pale Yellow: This colour is great for putting in the inner corner and bottom waterline.  It helps brighten up the eye and make your eyes look bigger.  If you are going for a smokey eye, I would recommend wearing black or whatever smokey eye colour you are going for (say blue or purple), on your lower lash line, then put pale yellow on your lower waterline.  It looks gorgeous.

So I would definitely recommend these eyeliners, if you have the money to splurge on them.  I mean at a hefty price of £14, it is quite a lot for an eyeliner.  But ya know, they are very, very good.  If you want to look through their colour range and maybe purchase some of your own, you can click here.  Every single colour I have, I would say go out and buy.  But if I had to choose one, I would choose Minted, because you can get a black, brown, white, anywhere, but this colour is so unique, which is why I love it so much!

Have a fabulous day, where ever you are,

Annabel

Date Night #1 | Makeup Tutorial Featuring Danielle Reid :)

Hello, friends.  Tonight, my sister is going on a date with her boyfriend, and as it is quite a special occasion, she asked me to do her makeup for her.  After I had done it I thought why not show everyone what I did and how they can do it.  I haven't done a step by step with the pictures, I have only done the finished look.  However, if future when I plan on doing a tutorial I will do a step by step picture follow through.  Sorry, once again for the lighting of the photos, it isn't in natural lighting because it was at night and I hadn't planned it out.  I will hopefully soon, be buying some natural light, lights.  Or a lamp, which I can then use to take pictures with natural lighting, and then the swatches will look so much better :) yay!

Okay, now then, onto the tutorial.

Non-Beauty Favourites | September

Hello, friends.  I'm sorry I know this post is long over-due, but I keep forgetting to write it - no excuse I know.  But its okay, its not like its half way through October, yet.  Time is going so quickly it really scares me.

But first of all, I want to say that on my beauty favourites for September, I asked the question whether you wanted me to do short posts with not much detail, or longer posts with my opinions and little stories and stuff.  And I was thinking about it, but I don't really like not giving you all details and information and stuff, its not what I wanted to do when I started this blog.  So I'm going to do more detailed blogs for you all.  Which I hope isn't a bad thing... That would be a little strange.

Hahaa anyway, I'm get along with this post now.

POTD | Makeup #1

Today I was going through all my makeup taking pictures for my blog, and heads up, I have lots of posts that I have planned and hopefully you all will like them :)

Anyway, I was going through my eyeliners and I found my old MAC  Kohl Eyeliner in Smoulder, and I had to sharpen it because it was completely blunt, and I only realised afterwards how small it actually was...

It was quite saddening because I love this eyeliner, and it is basically the only black eyeliner I use, but I do have a spare, so it's okay, don't stress everyone! Hahaa, anywho, I thought I would share with you how actually small this is.

I have measured it against my finger and it is half the size of my finger, and I don't have big hands at all.  How sad :(

Anyway, hope you had a fab day, let me know if you did anyway interesting - or even if you didn't in the comments below.

This is going to be a new little series-ish thingy magig, of mine, where if I find a picture or a quote or something, and it is going to be my pic/pick of the day.

See you all later,

Favourite Vampire Star? | Ask The Audience

I know nowadays in the media world, everybody is going crazy for vampires.  This is me included by the way. I love watching vampire shows (The Vampire Diaries being my favourite, Stephan and Damon...) and vampire films (lets all stop kidding ourselves, we all love The Twilight Saga, end of).  And so, I was thinking to myself, who is my favourite vampire hero or villain.  And I simply couldn't decide, so I am asking all of you, who is your favourite vampire star?

Or you do think vampires suck? ;)

Let me know,

My Top 5 Bronzers!

Elf Blush and Bronzing Duo, Rimmel Natural Bronzer, KCO Faces Mineral Glow, Natural Collection Bronzing Powder and 2True Natural Bronzing Powder.

Hello Everyone, hope your having a fabulous day!  I've just had a massive sixth form meeting at my school, where my head of sixth form talks to us all about how amazing our school is - and how we all should stay on.  Most of us aren't.  However, after today I must admit I am kind of considering it... The main reason why I would be leaving is because I love acting and thats the career path I want to follow, and at my school the drama classes are very, very small, and its difficult to create a whole play with say 3 people.  But I do love my school, so that is a big shame.

Okay, now Annabel, stop rambling and talk to these people about bronzers :P

I'm going to come straight out and say that I am not massive bronzer junky.  I am definitely not a fan of the "orange" look, and mostly I just embrace my paleness and go for a nice blush instead.  That does not mean tot say that I don't own any bronzers because I do and I do use them, just with a much lighter hand than some people.

And now for that reason, I don't have any high end bronzers - because I don't feel the need to.  I believe that the quality is in the product - not the price.  So all these bronzers are drugstore, although one I did purchase at a Clothes Show and so I need to quickly check exactly how much that one is full price.

- Okay it turns out the KCO bronzer I purchased at the Clothes Show is quite expensive, but all the rest are very cheap - I promise.

1.  Natural Collection - Bronzing Powder - First off can I just say that for being £1.99. there is so much product in this bronzer.  It's awesome! Now because it's very cheap, it is a little powdery, but I say a little because it is a very small amount, so I am not going to complain. It is a nice colour, however a tad orangey - so be careful.  It also has really great pigmentation.  I really like this bronzer and after doing this post I have re-discovered it and I am probably going to use it more often. Yay :)

2.  KCO Faces Mineral Glow - This bronzer I purchased at The Clothes Show in 2009.  I know that, that was a long time ago, so the fact that the packaging is completely fallen apart, isn't necessarily because it was badly put together.  And when I first bought this I really loved it and you can tell I used it a lot as it has hit pan.  But to use this bronzer you have to have a very light hand because it is very orange as you can see in the swatch.  Although, I am going to try and use this again as once upon a time, I really loved this bronzer.

3.  Rimmel Natural Bronzer Sun Bronze - Rimmel do come up with great products at a great prices don't they! And I think this is one of them. As you can see I really have used this bronzer, and loved it.  It has a really nice colour, which isn't too orange and not too muddy coloured - if you know what I mean.  The only thing with this bronzer is that it isn't overly pigmented, but if I'm honest, I'm pretty pale and so I can gradually add this onto my skin to get the right colour rather than feeling like I have just stepped out of Willy Wonka's factory.

4. ELF Blush & Bronzing Compact blushed/bronzed - This duo compact I do really love - however that it mostly due to the blusher.  The bronzer I do like - which is the reason it is on this list, however it isn't very pigmented, but I think it might be that I have a slightly faulty product.  The colour is slightly "muddy" however I believe it works very well for contouring your cheeks.  It does have some shimmer, but it isn't very visible once applied, and when it is on your cheeks it just makes them look like they have a nice glow.
5. 2True Natural Bronzing Powder Shade 2 - This is probably my favourite bronzer here because of so many things. 1) You get 13 grams of product for £1.99! 2) It is very pigmented, for the colour of the bronzer. And 3) It looks good on pale skin - my skin, and if you are careful you can get a really great colour - as long as you don't apply too much.  It is an overall awesome bronzer, and I recommend everyone to go out and buy this, especially because it is so cheap - it won't be breaking the banks.

Well, I hope you all have enjoyed this post, and if this was helpful please let me know! :) The numbers aren't in order of favourite to least favourite, they are just randomly put in order.

Have a fabulous day everyone,

Annabel x

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow - R.S.V.P

Wearing RSVP on my lid and Bad Gal Lash on my lashes

(Sorry, this shade has been discontinued)

Love this colour and amazing for only £1!

A lip combo I have been wearing recently - using Benefit lip gloss and MUA lipstick.

Have a fantastic day,

Annabel

P.S - an non-beauty favourites post will be coming soon - ill let you all know what my favourite foods, candles, music, and random items were this month.  Talk then x

P.S.S - I've tried a much more minimalistic approach to this post.  Let me know if you would prefer either:
1) Lots of posts with content but not every single detail
or
2) Slightly fewer posts (but still a few a week) but be more detailed about my opinions and I may even throw in a couple of stories that I might have related to items.

Tell me your opinions about this, so that I can write post that my readers will want to read.  Thank you :)

My Top 5 Blushers!

Hey Everyone! Today I thought I would do a little post on my favourite blushers.  Now, I am going to apologise in advance at the lighting in these pictures and in probably many pictures to come.  I am still in school and now in year 11, and so this means that for the majority of the day I am not at home and therefore can't take pictures of my products that are at home.  And so, I have had to take those pictures when I get home from school, and by this time its not daylight, its verging into nighttime.  So these swatches don't show the colour exactly how it would appear in the day.  I am sorry, but there isn't much I can do about it.  But I will try to figure something out - I promise.

Anyway back to the post...

1.  Elf Compact Blushed/bronzed - The blusher in this set is so gorgeous.  It is my go-to blush for everyday.  It is apparently a dupe for the NARS blusher Orgasm. I say apparently because I don't actually own Orgasm so I wouldn't be able to compare it myself.  But I trust other beauty gurus words. But this blush is beautiful and it has a very subtle shimmer which makes your cheeks look radiant.  It also has very good colour pay off, I really do adore this blush.

Paralympic Superhumans

This year the Paralympics was in London! As I said in my previous post, I was fortunate enough to go see the Olympics.  But I was also lucky enough to go to the Paralympics.  I was able to see the athletics and the closing ceremony.  While watching these events I was in awe of all the athletics performing.  To think they went through, what they went through, and then overcame it and worked hard to achieve something that most of us wouldn't be able to do.  Most of us wouldn't be able to throw 9metres in shot for instance, let alone if we had lost a limb, or lost our sight.  All the Paralympians are so inspiring and I think that London welcomed them all with open arms.

Like in my last post, I am going to show you just a few of the many pictures my sister and I took while we were at the Paralympics. Enjoy!

Olympic Fever!

Unless you were living under a box for the last 2 months - you would have known that the Olympics were here in London this year. London 2012, I thought was absolutely fantastic! I felt so honoured that I was able to go to the Olympics and see the hockey.  Now, I do have to say that hockey is one of the sports that I have never played and so I didn't necessarily know what was going on the whole time.  But nonetheless, it was an amazing experience and I'm so grateful that I got tickets and was able to go.

And so while I was at the Olympic park, I took some pictures - obviously :)
So I thought I would just do this post and show you all my pictures - in case you weren't able to go or just because you want to see some of the Olympics from my point of view.
Our match was the semi-final for the womens hockey: New Zealand vs Holland.
Enjoy!
Waiting in some long arse queues. Sexy I know ;)

Lip Balm-Aholic!

So yeah, I'm a really normal person and I am obsessed with lip balms.  Now before you all start judging me on that little statement, I do have a semi-good reason for loving lip balms.  I get sore and cracked lips quite regularly, now I don't know if thats because I talk to much or simply because the English weather doesn't like my lips.  But, in order to keep them lovely and soft, I have tried lots of lip balms to see which ones really do, do the trick and frankly I like lots of lip balms.

If you ever talk to any of my friends about me and my lip balms you will know that in probably every lesson at school you will catch me applying lip balm at some point.  I guess it is now kind of a habit, but it is also because I like my lips to be moisturised and soft.  I'm sure there is nothing wrong with that. :)

And so, in this post I am going to give my opinion on some the lip balms that I have tried.  I say 'some' because I'm pretty certain I have more lying around somewhere... Anyway, lets get into the review/raveish thingymabob.

EOS Lip balm, Nivea Pearly Shine, Burts Bees Lip balm, Go Balmy! Berry Lip Balm, Carmex (mint), Raspberry Lip Balm from Accessorize,Vaseline Rosy Lips

Garnier BB Cream | Review

Apologies...

First things I would sincerely like to apologise for not posting a blog for such a long time, however, I have been very busy - but I do know that is not an excuse.  I am just very sorry. Hmm, well, moving on into this post...

Today, as you probably know from the title, I am going to do a review of the Garnier BB Cream.  Now, I know I am late on this bandwagon but I did actually purchase this product when everyone was raving about the BB creams - I just never got round to posting this blog. So here we are.

Actual Review

I have the shade 02 Light/Clair and I find that the colour is good on my skin, but that was when I was tan so it might not be the perfect shade now, however, it's bearable. I used this religiously when I was in Spain because BB creams or tinted moisturiser are much better in the sun as its lighter on your skin, but I do have quite a few scars on my skin from me being very naughty and picking spots (don't do it!!) and so I find I need to apply concealer as well as the BB cream because it is not heavy at all.

Products I've Used Up | Empties

Sebnini Holly and Cranberry Candle
TKMaxx (think around £3)
This candle I have burnt to the bottom and so it is pretty obvious that I liked it... It smells so gorgeous.  I love cranberry scented candles and so when I saw this in TKMaxx for so cheap I had to get it!

Slatkin & Co "Leaves" Candle
Bath and Body Works $20
Once again, I loved this candle.  My friend got it for me from the US when she went and I got so excited when she bought it for me.  The candles I love are "christmas" scented candle - like really spicy scents and this leaves candle smells like heaven to me! It costs a lot and so I might not be repurchasing it anytime soon.  Although I really, really want to!

Summer Essentials

Hello my fellow hopefuls. I think a common characteristic in english folk is a constant hope for nice weather in those supposidly "summer" months of June, July and August. If our wishes do come true - we need to make sure that we welcome the weather with open arms so that it doesn't leave us too quickly. Therefore, we need to be prepared for a sunny summer!

In order to be ready we need to make sure we have our summer essentials. While sitting in the sun, i had a long think as to what these really are. Some of the things i came up with were obvious yet very important and some things i had to think for a little longer to come up. Ill now stop rambling and share with you all what i believe are summer essentials.

Lets start with the obvious:

Sun Cream!
This as obvious as it make seem to you, is something that some people forget to put on in order to get that tan that we all desire. But i cant begin to stress how important this is! Sun cream helps protect your skin from the very harmful UV rays that the sun emits. You all want that tan but protecting your skin should be more important and you can all still get a tan through wearing sun cream, it just stops you getting burnt. Which is no fun.

Now then in england is may not get as hot as in other places around the globe, and so you can afford to for a little while really work on that tan. By using tanning oil it helps you tan... It does what is says on the tin hahaaa. It is good but use it sparingly and not constantly, you still need your sun cream.

Favourite Beauty Products of June

Hey everyone, today I was looking through all my makeup and hair products and thought 'I have used a lot of different products this month, maybe I should do a monthly favourites for you.' So here I am.

The month of June has been an off and on month of summer.  What I mean by that is that the weather has been sunny,  then rainy, then stormy, then like a heat wave again.  Its all very retarded and messed up.  But that's english weather for you! So I have used some summer colours and then some winters colours for both cheeks and lips, I have also been having my hair curly a lot recently because I really love that look for summer, it just gives a nice boho, relaxed, laid back style - which I like for summer.

I am going to stop rambling and get into what my favourite beauty products have been this month (with a few random items as well)

Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Pads (£5.39)

This is my first favourite for the month of June.  So basically the story behind this product is - I had it ages ago when I was younger and when I first started getting into beauty and makeup and I thought it would be good to start off with (it wasn't very expensive and at the time lots of magazines were raving about it).  And then this month I have been traveling a lot and seeing family and so I wanted an easy cleanser to take with me, also I have been REALLY lazy with my skincare routine, and so I remembered these pads and went to the shops to get them. These pads are awesome and have no hassle, you just take your makeup off then take a pad wipe it across your face and it removes any excess dirt or makeup you have left on your skin.

And so to sum it all off, I have been loving these pads, I actually think they have really helped my skin aswell and are so easy to just wipe over your face and your done. Simples.
